Techinally I am running stock tires on my Rubicon. I have been using stock tires that came off a Kawasaki atv and just recently I installed some new stock tires off a Kawasaki Teryx. This will be my third set of tires. I have about 8700 miles on my 05 Rubicon.

I used the tires that came with the Rubicon until they were bald but they were crap. These new Kawasaki tires are a whole lot better.

I do have some Mudlites that I only put on if it snows, really wet and muddy, or I go on a ride.

First thing I do when I get a new quad is change the tires. Good radials are just so much better than most of the stock junk.

first thing I do when i buy an atv is replace the stock tires with a bigger more aggressive set- I want ground clearance and mud traction- especially here in new england.

I think manufacturers expect most people will replace the stock rubber with a tire more suitable to their local terrain, and because of that, use a cheaper tire with a multi-use tread design.

Money doesn't grow on trees, so I run stockers till they wear out. But I use my ute for farm and recreational riding. No extreme stuff for me. Don't like to pay for doctor bills and repair bills.

I run stock tires on mine...but we don't do any crazy riding..just rail beds and open trails for the most part. My 06 450 has 800 miles on it and comparing the tread to my brand new 2010 500 the tread is still at 75%. Not much riding on tar, only when crossing roads or getting from one trail to another.
