2003 Kawasaki 650 Praire low hours
My 650 starts good, and it idles pretty good, I’ve cleaned the carbs twice, but it still runs like crap, also it overloads with fuel really bad. WHATS THE PROBLEM?? I’m the 2nd owner, it has 123 hours. It has an upgraded exhaust, I’m not sure if the carbs needs a really good overhauling with new jets, I’m just puzzled, when I 1st got it I would have to run it with the chokes at 1/4 on, I cleaned the carbs and now I don’t have to turn the choke on but it still RUNS LIKE CRAP?? Any HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.. Ppl post their problems on here and get them fixed but they never let anyone know what the issues was, POINTLESS..

Welcome. I had a Brute Force 650(basically the same machine except for plastic) that was doing the same thing. I had the carbs worked on a couple times by 2 different shops and it still didn't run right. Those dual carbs are great for power but when they act up, they're frustrating. I ended up just trading it in running like crap for my current efi King Quad 750 not long after. It needed other work too(had an oil leak) and would have cost more than what the atv was worth. Even when the Brute Force ran good, it was still hard to start at times. Sad part is, I still kinda miss it sometimes. It was the most powerful 4x4 atv you could buy that didn't have irs. I loved how sporty it felt even at its size. Yeah not the smoothest ride and gobbled gas but it was a fun machine. Sorry I wasn't really any help with your problem though.
