Default Starter Solenoid Wiring Help!

Hello have a 97 Bayou 220. The solenoid is not clicking in when I push the start button. I notice when the ignition switch is on all the wires on the starter solenoid are showing positive... Might this be the issue? The frayed white cable is not the issue. (I'm working on fix that once I get this issue resolved.) Which cable on the solenoid should be negative and positive?

Just an educated guess the cable with the boot is probably the hot wire. As far as why it isnt working those wires you say arent the problem may be a problem. I recommend getting a multimeter and determining where the power goes. A solenoid is a coil with a heavy contact that connects when the coil is charged. The coil can fail which causes the solenoid to become a metallic lump.

I can also see the m etched into the plastic on the solenoid which should go to the starter.

This diagram came from the forum years ago. Sadly whoever sent it didn't copy it in enough detail to make out wiring colours exactly, but looks like there should be a brown going to the solenoid, and no yellow. Also note there are two solenoids, the starter circuit relay has to work as well, if it is the same as the KLF300 you can hear that one click in when you switch ignition on in neutral. Not exactly clear from diagram but I assume black is neg as brown goes to the light switch and provides the pos for the lights.
