Default 1996 Yamaha warrior 350

Would appreciate any help, recently picked up a Yamaha Warrior 350, previous owner said he believed it needed a stator because there was no spark, have put a new ignition coil stater starter relay, anything you can think of is new. I get voltage at the ignition coil plug, I can feel it lol but get no spark at the spark when testing on the frame, it is a brand new plug as well. I believe it has to do with a grounding issue, has anyone ran into a similar situation before? Thank you in advance.

If you are not getting a spark you must check things logically, one thing at a time. Throwing parts at a problem may work but is the most expensive way and doesn't always find the cause. The starter relay has nothing to do with the ignition system. First thing is to do the tests at the CDI. If you can get the workshop manual, do so as it outlines all tests, plus readings of resistances for trigger coil, power coil etc. Yours should be OK as it is a new stator. However broken wires between stator and CDI would show up, as would a bad earth at the CDI, this is usually fatal for the CDI. Yamaha earths can be tricky. I have known frame earths to look fine but be poor, removing, cleaning and re-fitting can result in a bad earth becoming a good one. Spark plug needs to be touching a bare metal part of the engine when testing.
