Im thinking about getting a 300ex this summer and Im just wondering how well it would do in water and mud. I do mostly trail riding, but to get to some of those trails I need to go through some semi-deep water. Does anyone know how well it will handle in this?

It isn't no 4x4 but does go through a lot of mud and water for a 2x4!

Get a Warrior instead. It's just as reliable but absolutely built for trails.

Warrior...? lol..the 300EX is a much better trail machine then a warrior....who needs to have a slightly higher top speed for more money, less reiability...and an overall goofy fealing machine...I have ridden alot of machines and the warrior really stood out as aqward...not only that but it's heavy...the reverse producer sucks, the linkage is very prone to getting smashed off everything...really not a whole lot more power....stick with the original plan...300EX.

LOL, The killer has given some pretty good advice over the years and is very knowledgeable on the subject of ATV's for his age. He is an addition to the Honda forum.

freaky and TrailBreaker70 your advice was the bad here I am sure that if Honda1478 wanted advice on the warrior he would have asked for it but with 3 posts I think he has the honda in mind.

Honda1478,

The honda 300EX will do what your asking within reason as far as the water is concerned.

Link for the ATV Connection look at the 300EX : Tested

killer250r please do not flame freaky it looks like he has the blood running with that Icon

Freaky, just shut the hell up, and to be honest with you the warrior isn't the best selling quad ever, this guy only wanted advice on a 300ex, not some butt fu@#ing warrior, I think I hear your mom calling you, it is time for your daily breast feeding, and you get off this forum bit@#, shut the f@#k up!!

The 300EX is a good trail atv. The only thing I would suggest is to buy a skid plate for under the motor and under the swing arm. You never know what is lurking in the mud or under the water. You might want more aggressive tires on the rear. (The skid plates and tires would be a good suggestion for whatever you might get.) The 300EX is agile enough that you might be able to just go around alot of mud and water.

freaky- Why would you over react and tell someone to get off the forum? Killer250R was just giving his opinion and you can take it or leave it.

Now I wish ChubbyNug wouldn't have come on here and flamed poor freaky.

What is the deal with everyone. Take an aspirin, take your multivitamin and get over it, feel better.

Honda1478 wants to know about mud and water and a 300EX.

If I see one one flame in this thread I am deleting it. Now I am going to go eat something and take my daily aspirin and advanced muti-vitamin for senior citizens.
