Well let me tell you Dumont, I'm all for this new yami. If it could deliver that is great.
So Chubby, when you tell me the your alcohol 727 raptor is faster than my 17 year old 310, for the sake of your ego, it better be. Let's see the engine is only about 2 1/2 times bigger and you've probably sunk $4,000-$5,000 the engine. Using your line of reasoning, an alcohol 727 is a POS because a CBR 900 is faster. Do you see anything wrong here.
Let's start from scratch, take a stock 250r and stock Raptor and stock z400. Put them to drag on pavement for example, all three bkes will be within feet of each other. The top speeds would be within 2-4 mph of each other.
Take all three to a mx track, again they will be real close with the R having a slight advantage.
Now sink $1000 into all three of these bikes and see what happens.
The point is that given 15 years, and ton of reseach and developement and the result is more or less the same an the R at a much higher price.
Given that a four-stroke equivalent is two times the size of two-stroke, a stock Raptor should completely desemate an R, and they don't.

I agree with trx about how 250R's get WAY more out of mods than a fourstroke...as for all 2 strokes. But i agree that in some conditions (trail riding, sand dunes, drag racing) I would take a raptor over a 250R and in other conditions (like MX track) i woulod take a 250R. In my opinion it just depends where you ride. Although, I would probebely buy a raptor before a 250R (if those were the only choices) because it is new, and i like the way it lookes more. But i mostly ride in the dunes.

I have an 89 250R Honda FourTrax with a race pipe, 38mm Mikuni carb, Race plastic's, Douglas wheels with holeshots on it and DG front and rear bumpers. Needs a little more tls to be real nice but for $2500 you can't beat it. Email me at n2vws@bellsouth.net for more info.
