I have Pro Armor nerfs on my EX and I love them. They are super strong and have the built in heel guard. If you don't have a set of nerfs I highly recommend getting a set cuz' ripping your leg apart on the footpeg is not any fun.

nerf bars r the way to go, they've saved my leg more than a few times when jumping or going over whoops. also, something that u guys didn't mention, if ur foot somehow leaves the footpeg even with the nerf bars, they hold ur foot out far enough that u can't touch the ground, and if u still manage to hit the ground, they keep ur foot outside of the tires, so ur leg stays in the same condition as when u started riding.
