Doesn't anyone ride anymore?

I hear ya! we often go out as a bunch of bikes and quads and sometimes i'm the only quad. I dont care. I'm there for the ridin. Sometimes it's all quads...
"Fire danger" has the USFS closing all the woods around us again... some of the best riding in the US. Funny, spark arresters are REQUIRED year around and there has never been a MC/ATV caused forest fire. But that doesnt slow down the govt of course. Now we ride around a bowl, about 4 acres, that has NEVER been groomed. Theyre out grooming the closed areas! DUH! Does it sound stupid to you too? Alright TechTip 101...what a smart man you are!
O.k. here's a nice Laurel and Hardy story.
First trip to badlands.....my husband, who thinks he can ride through anything, get's stuck with in the first 10 minutes out on a trail(see my pics)...so his friend, being a nice guy, jumps on his wifes quad to pull him out. Well, he doesn't realize that his wifes quad has a little kick to it, he tips it over making a sharp turn and rips off the whole handle assy. Needless to say, watching him get a shock as he tries to put the throttle and handle back on was more than amusing!
And after all that laughing, it still took some nice guy with a winch to stop and get him out!
Actually we have a lot of funny stories....that happens when you have a Marine lunatic for a husband.
Kudos to all who are posting, I enjoy the whimsical male intellect!

One time me (Warrior), my brother on his Scrambler, and my friend on his X-Press 300 started down a trail at Durhamtown here in Georgia. It got tighter and tighter. We stopped and looked at the map and realized we were on a dirt bike trail.
Each of us got stuck 3 times on that trail (which wasn't even that long). Near the end we came to a creek that was solid mud from all the recent rain. My friend thought he could just ride right down through the creek and avoid the muddiest, widest part where everyone else had apparently crossed. The part where he tried to cross was very steep. So he edged up to it slowly, and rolled down into it, but his bumper went straight into the ground and the quad pivoted over on top of him onto the opposite bank. We jumped into the mud and helped him pull it off. He was laughing his head off.
After seeing what he did I tried to cross the muddier, wider part of the ditch. I got a little momentum up and jumped it off the short bank into the mud and just stopped instantly almost falling off over the bars. I was up to the top of my rims in mud, and Warrior's aren't very good for mud in the first place. It was great fun though.

normally when we ride (me my dad couple of cousins and uncles) ride we ride out at my grandmas farm, which has about 80 acres) and we have one heck of a time out there... her land is lake side so we also camp down there with our campers. ..the lake isnt very deep and most of the time we can take our four wheelers (500 magnum, 500 traxter, kodiak, 600 grizz, 400 sport, 250 trail blazer, dont know if I left ne out just to many) out and around the dock maybe 5 feet past it too. lots of fun when the sportier models go out because of the lack of plastic to prevent the mud comin up! some of the land is really swampy too and aot of the fourwheelers get stuck...just be the first one through and you should normally make it...but there is a couple of spots where only my uncles 6 wheelers can make it through. but all in all with the mud and just riding around it is always a blast...later
