my bayou does 120mph!!!

 

I've run 86mph (radar gun, 1500ft, but 81 in the 1/4) full out with a 87 TRX250R that is ported (years ago), FTZ in frame pipe, old 36mm carb, no filter and taller gearing on a dirt road.

 

Hmmmmm I see there..... Well if the Pikes Peak race is not about speed, and mostly about handling, (I do agree handling is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT), but why oh why are the podium guys riding Shees that have been bored and stroked to the 450cc displacement?? LOL, and to all the Shee haters, or better stated, 'to all of the guys that are jealous of the phenomenal power exhibited by the mighty 2-stroke twin', Why is it that only Shees win year after year after year after year?? Why is there not any 250Rs, or Raptors, or DS 650s' winning the fastest time up this lil mountain?? ROTMFFLMAO @ this..... Gee, if you want a fast bike go out and buy a mighty twin before 2006!! Nuff said, then your feelings will never ever be hurt when a screaming blur goes howling past you.... hince the name BANSHEE!! No they are rather slow stock because of our prescious little government and EPA mandates.... BUT once you drop a little 'chedda' nothing and absolutely nothing can touch it!! The only limit is either your sanity or your wallet............... LOL, this cannot be said about the other performance bikes!! The Banshee is unlimited!!

 

I was talking to my friend (or a guy tha tjust owns a Raptor, more like an aquantance) and I was telling him that I smoked my friend's 400ex with my snowmobile (Formula Mach 1 583). He asked me what my top speed was and I said "about 100MPH a little more. He told me he can do about 150 on his Raptor (stock btw). I wanted to say something...but then I figured let him think 150.

 

Your buddies Raptor couldn't even do 150 kph stock. His Raptor will do low to mid 70's max.

I know...re-read my post. I explain that I didn't bother telling him it can't do 150. He might think he's going that fast, but he should get a GPS or something to actually see how fast he really is going and not just measure the speed on his own.

 

For cryin' out loud! What is the facination with top speed? Unless you race the BAJA or Pikes Peak, it's a rediculous post. Buy a street bike!

 

The facination with top speed is that where I live we do have lots of wide open spaces to go all out. The satisfaction of pulling away from your buddy and rubbing it in later is great.

 

Everyday quads are so dirty in the air, 4 big fat tires, a big fat non aero body on top of a huge air scoop(fenders) the rest of plastic body is flappin in the breeze. See how sleek GP road bikes are? I find a lot of these triple digit speeds claims a little hard to beleive. With enough money some might be true. I know, I know, everybody has a friend that has another friend who has a cousin that knows this cop that has a buddy that has this special radar gun that he got from NASA that was just tuned up by this guy with an awesome laptop.... Dude.
Sorry, I just spent the day at the dunes with the most spactacluar(sp) super human, and bike ever put on the earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
