Who cares? These things are like 15 years old and they are still the kings that everyone is trying to beat. All the new 4 strokes try to beat the r on the track and they still dont. And everyone is trying to out muscle the shee in a drag and they cant. Thank god I got a 2 stroke. So stop argueing there both way more fun to drive then 4 strokes.

IF you'll notice... all of the 250r's that are really winning on the tracks aren't even 250r's anymore. They're all running aftermarket frames. HELL... bone stock vs. bone stock the 250r was the slowest of the 250's. the tecate was the fastest...Followed by the LT250r, and then the trx250r. LMFAO, the stock 250r won't even start to compare to a banshee or raptor. I saw a bone stock 250r go 6.90's in the 300ft lmao. our stock raptor turned a 6.18 wich isn't the fastest... but is alot faster than a 6.90. There has yet to be a TRX250/295/350/395R run in the low 4's or high 3's yet... "that i have seen" and there are a hand full of banshees doing so where we run. And what is this that you say about a powervalve motor slowing you down? WTF that's ridiculous. The powervalve motors that i've seen are all putting out over 120 hp. We're talking about T-REX, Cheetah, and Rudy Kurtz cylinders here. Plus you can't turn an R into a rotax [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img] lol. But then again if you wanna talk about handling in the woods... Todd kippenburg did beat alot of 250r's on a mojave when he took 2nd overall in the 2000 season of GNCC.

 

i own 86 250r & 92 banshee, there both greart quads. the banshee is still in the 2004 line up. to me that makes it the winner. a quad that is been made that long in tooth must be a damn good quad.period. i've been hurt more by 250r than my banshee & Lt500 combined?

 

We own both, they are both scary fast, and I dont even want to pick a winner.

 

my 250r is in boxes,where its going to stay for awhile. i never been happy about going over the bars too much,through the years i've fell off most of my bikes except my rz350,but the 250r has a strange way of putting me over the bars. i prefer to go off the side or the back if i have a choice. the 250r is the best racer,but who is racing all the time. not me. when i do race, i ride my yz250 & Lt500 the same day if both are raced that day. the 250r has been the only quad to beat me at a race or $20.000 race 250r. i still think its the rider more than the quad. That 250R was either not tuned right, or the rider was 10 years old. A stock 250R tuned right with a good rider dose 6.1. My 250R with a pipe, filter, and jetting goes 5.4 Tell me that isnt fast for a stock bike. (look in my pictures.) And the track where I race is a slower one.
