IF you'll notice... all of the 250r's that are really winning on the tracks aren't even 250r's anymore. They're all running aftermarket frames. HELL... bone stock vs. bone stock the 250r was the slowest of the 250's. the tecate was the fastest...Followed by the LT250r, and then the trx250r. LMFAO, the stock 250r won't even start to compare to a banshee or raptor. I saw a bone stock 250r go 6.90's in the 300ft lmao. our stock raptor turned a 6.18 wich isn't the fastest... but is alot faster than a 6.90. There has yet to be a TRX250/295/350/395R run in the low 4's or high 3's yet... "that i have seen" and there are a hand full of banshees doing so where we run. And what is this that you say about a powervalve motor slowing you down? WTF that's ridiculous. The powervalve motors that i've seen are all putting out over 120 hp. We're talking about T-REX, Cheetah, and Rudy Kurtz cylinders here. Plus you can't turn an R into a rotax lol. But then again if you wanna talk about handling in the woods... Todd kippenburg did beat alot of 250r's on a mojave when he took 2nd overall in the 2000 season of GNCC.
To start off, you must not know what is going on in the world of drag racing. There are plenty of 250r's that will turn 4.2's and lower. Of course banshees will run a half second faster. They can have close to double the hp.

There is no way a raptor is blowing by banshee unless you are talking about how the top speed is 78 on the raptor and how the top speed of the banshee is 73 but by a five mile an hour advantage you will not be blowing by a shee. In a drag race the shee' will smoke any craptor cause once its on the pipes there is no catching it there is just too much top end power to be able to keep up with it. I rode a 2000 banshee with a boost bottle and toomey t5 kit and there is no way any raptor could even keep up with something like that the pipes give it tremendous top end and its so easy to shift under power!!!
In short technical trails the raptor will win out because of the low end power but even then i don't know because the raptor chassis is just so high up and unstable. The raptor was def. Made to "look cool" instead of be a serious and great handling racer. I prefer the look of a low quad like the banshee because it is much more stable safe.!!
