Adding on to what you have all ready said, I don't think the DS getes credit because very few have rode them. And they bad mouth them because they look big. Yes they are big and heavy but that is not a factor because of power and and the 12 inces of travle. Let see you power slide a raptor on black top at 45 mph with out picking scabs the next day!!! The morial of the story is the ds much Like the men who own them have 12 inches of travel at their disposal, only the ds don't bottem out!!! LOL.

 

those ds 650s are one of the ugliest quads out there looks like a snowmobile on fourwheels. I saw a tricked out z400 spank one by half a quad length. Not sure if ds was stock but had a cool looking pipe.

 

Your nuts! I won't even touch the Z400 thing, but the DS is one of the most agressive looking quads on the market. What it has going for it is that it doesn't look like every other quad out there. The 04 Baja X with its black frame is the best looking sport quad I have ever seen.

 

1 - All stock quads suck!

2 - Anyone that thinks a Predator will beat anything, needs to put the crack pipe down!

3 - the DS is the fastest out of the box in a longer distance race on flat ground. The Raptor will pull the DS up a sand hill, though. The Predator sees many tail lights! Basnhees are great machines modded, but see #1

4 - Notice how I don't even mention the other 2, because they do not count!

One of the ugliest? z's came out with a copy of the raptor styleing, then 2 other brands made it in different colors. And how can a quad "spank" another quad by half a quad length. And you said it was tricked out wow that says alot for the "z". I really dont think that any "Z" or any of the other look alikes should talk because those things are probably the slowest sport quad out next to the 400ex. But at least those are made by honda.

Well I guess z's arent that bad they are a good starter quad for the women riders. Slow have a big cushy seat and come in all the pretty colors.

 

Yes stock quads suck. But the guy that started this thread asked what is the fastest stock quad. "The quad to beat all quads" only two come to mind the DS and the Zilla, but go try and find a stock zilla now days. I think there like Big Foot, they just dont exist.

3. yes i agree the ds is fast outta the box..... but see number 1. nobody keeps their quad stock if there seriously drag racing,


IMO you cant go wrong with any of the newer quads , all of them can be made to go fast, they all have good points and week points, i chose the pred bc of the price and the power, i dont like people who bash other quads on message boards, i ride every weekend with a yfz and banshee, sometimes with raptors and pretty soon a 450r, i doesnt matter what you ride, just enjoy it and have fun

Go with a 4 stroke and you will be happy. All 2-stroke quads will be extinct by 2008. EPA will no longer allow them to be produced or sold in the U. S.

 

Go with the DS Baja X if you have the cash, you wont be dissapointed. And no im not bias on this, I have ridden raptors and shees and the DS seems to pull soo much harder than both. With any quad you get its not going to matter much for a while anyway......you could have the quickest quad ever and racing your friends with a new bike they will prob beat you everytime for quite a while since your going from a blaster to a bigger 2 stroke or a 4 stroke with at least twice the CCs. I would look into what dealers you have around you to. If there is not any DS dealers nearby but there is a Honda or a Yamaha dealer close I would get something from there or etc. Plus see how the dealer is and really see if you want to deal with them in the first place. So you might not want to judge by just the speed of the quad and by some of the other factors, like handling, style, size and get the right quad for you not just the quickest one out there, cause there is one thing for certain, someone always has a faster quad. And the whole which is faster this stuff is getting way too old. Every quad that has been talked about on here are all powerfull and fast and really the rider is the reason why some of the raps have beat the shees, the DS taking a YZF, then turning around and loosing to the same exact thing with another rider. The only statement I really found off the wall was the z400 taking a DS. All I can say is that the DS really choked and that the z400 rider better live it up while he can cause that will never happen consistantly.

 

Out of those choices in a 350ft drag, its gonna be close between a shee and a pred. stock for stock pred will take it, but just a pipe on the shee and it will win, this is coming from a predator owner.
