Are u smokin KrACk dude a banshee won't hold up to either one of those machines I know this because I have both a 660 and new 450 that I have just recently purchased and both of those have so much of an edge on the once "has been" quad unless ur drag racing and i dont think theres anyway that the banshee could keep up with the 450 there either.
Dude if u are gonna buy one of these Quads ur best bet is to go for the the 450 if u like Mxing or hardcore riding but the Raptor is better on top end for speed so its what ever ur looking for really.........

ok carguy, heres the deal.
Both quads are excellent. Both are very fast in acceleration and top speed. Both have electric start.
Raptor: better for trails because of its narrower stance, reverse, and quick handling. Lots of low end torque as well. Better response to aftermarket mods, and can be made to kill a yfz if you want to put in the parts.
YFZ: obvious choice for the mx track. quicker in stock form, only gives up 3mph on top to the raptor. Very good handling and feel, more planted than on the raptor. Higher rev engine good for racing and hill shooting, also mx. yfz has a cardboard seat, but that can be fixed with a little extra foam.
you really need to look hard at what you want to do with the bike. with a raptor you get a better trail machine, but loose a little handling and acceleration. From what you have typed, it looks like this is what you are looking for. Not to mention the raptor is quite a bit cheaper msrp, and probably even more so at a real dealer.

thx alot lebanshee, this really helps. i won't get a 4wheeler (no matter what i decide to get) until sometime this summer. i'm payin for it, so i'm tryin to make sure i get what i want. i've have been lookin at banshees, and only ridden one. it was set up to drag racing. that's what made me startin looking at something else. now the only thing that's is making me look at something else is the reliability. now i'm not sayin their not reliable, i'm asking. it would have to be used, and from what most people say, if shees aren't kept up good, they become unreliable, compared to 4strokes. i know any quad came become unreliable, but any more unreliable than others? so that being said, what should i look for in a used banshee to make sure it's gonna last me? thx for the info

I dunno what that one dude was talkin about that a banshee can;t keep up with his raptor or yfz....maybe stock, but yamaha seels them in that condition for a reason...to be tame, but with the right mods you turly can unleash the beast that is the 350cc twin cylinder two stroke banshee....my brother races them and his is hooked up SERIOUSLY...and no one can touch him...PERIOD...
the only bike i have riden that will put the fear of god in you other than a hooked up banshee is my dads lt500
this bike was sick from head to toe, topped out at 110 mpd with a twister thorttle that nursed the powerband like a child usckin on its mommys tit... I had the option to buy it off of him...but i admit...its a lot of work to keep that thing on the ground and under control, wide stande and serious power, it would go up anything...
stands up in every gear with my dad on it (275 lbs)
so maybe you should talk so much about how bad a banshee is until you;ve seen it put to the test..besides? when have you ever seen a stock machine really shine?
aside from a yfz 450(and it still needs a pipe)...but at a tag of 8k$ it better cook me breakfast too

As for what to look for find out how much it's been bored. What the premix was they ran. How often they changed case fluid. I would take a compression guage with you too. Also look at the bike, has it been beat or not is usually a good indicator. Look at the back of the seat is it straight. That will tell you if the fram has been tweeked. Look around and dont be afraid to drive a little to get a good deal. There are a lot of people who buy them and get scared after they ride it and barely have any hours. Also try to get one that has some mods that you desire such as low or mid pipes, or tires. It will only save you money. Also test drive it. Take a friend with you and have him hold a tire and you turn the handle bars to see if there is any play in the stearing.
As for my mods I First purchased Fatty pipes new for $430. You can find perfectly good used ones that will do the same thing for around 150 to 250 look around. Also if you get a used shee it probably has them any way. Next I got a K&N, outwarer, and adaptor plate so that I can run no lid this is not nessecary from NOSSMACHINE for $100. If you ride muddy trails get a unifilter if you want, there a little safer and easier to clean there $20. Then I had my head milled .30, and the fly wheel lightened for around $100 shipped both great mods. Front 15th sproket $5. For tires I got front and rear Razors 6 ply. Great for trails really thick side wall. for $260. I think you can get a little cheaper. Just bought an atv temp guage for $70, excellent mod for any bike. Some crome, gotta have BLING on a all black shee, just makes it pimp.
Total estamite. $795 in preformance mods COUNTING TIRES. for a bike that absoulutely flys.
You can find tons of used stuff on ebay and everywhere else look around.
If you want to find out anything you need to know about banshee's. I suggest you go to this site. www.bansheehq.com it is a meca for info if you have any questions just ask. Good luck, and have fun with what ever you get.
