Of all of the bikes I have ridden (almost every bike built except for a DS), the banshee fits be the best. I have realized that my weight was keeping me from being as competetive in my sports, so I am now on a diet. I am down to 285.
As was said, most people will pick what is in their sig, however, I am a big boy like you and from experience have found the banshee to be the best for me.
Also, on a banshee you don't hear about the frames breaking, swingarms cracking, trannies tearing up, etc that you hear about with a lot of the other bikes mentioned. All of the problems with the other bikes happen even with 180lb riders. I am afraid of chancing it with my size.

im not saying anything is necessarily wrong with it,,,its just not the best matchup

If the DS dives in the corners, that can be fixed in suspension set up. For Raptor tippiness, you can simply flip the front rims (requires flush mount valve stems) and pick up about 5.5" front width and get a wider rear axle. I would say those and the KFX700 are your best choices at your size. My cousin rode my Raptor (6' 5" about 260) and he looked funny on it he is so big. I think you would dwarf a 450 class machine, just a dumb opinion from a small guy (6' 200 lbs).

I go 6'3 320+. The DS has been the perfect fit for me. No mods necessary other than adjusting the shocks. My brother who is about the same in height and weight owns a Raptor and a Shee. Both have revalved shocks to help with the extra weight. The Ds is the best bike for bigger riders. I have riden shees, 400ex, 250r, V-force, Raptors, and Predators and the DS is the most comfortable and forgiving bike to me.

shadyrascal, there's no need for name calling man. i simply offered another option that nobody had mentioned. jus because the guy weighs 340 lbs, doesn't mean that he's pure fat. i know guys who weigh about 250lbs, and i swear they look like they only weight about 150lbs. muscle weighs more than fat. besides, i was offering the 450's as an option simply because of the power, and the suspension. o, and by the way, you said that i'm a small guy, well i'm 6'1" and i weigh 200lbs. the average height of an male in the US is 5'10" and the weight jus depends on the person. i guess that means that i'm not exactly small now am i? and jus because i'm not fat (which you would have no way of knowing anyway) doesn't mean that i'm not on the heavy side for riding quads. most quads in the 400cc-500cc range are designed with a rider weight of about 140-175lbs and i know that the suspension on the 450's is fully adjustable, allowing somebody to fine tune it for both their weight, and the riding conditions/riding style. sometimes the ideas that seem the weirdest, or strangest, end up being the best. ever heard of Picasso?

Get a wolverine dude!!!
Just kidding i think it is pretty funny the bias thing but you can obnly give good advice about things you have
If you rthink about it you cant set up just about any quad as long as it doesent have a weak chasis all the ones you guys posted are correct if i was you i would try them all untill i find a good fit..

The DS is the best large quad out there. The engine is "bulletproof", awesome stock suspension to accomodate large riders and handle jumps, enough HP and torque to scare you, less $ than the 450's, and a great ride. I weigh 235 and mine handles better than the other quads I have ridden. I had the same prob with the front diving when I bought it, but after toying with the suspension it handles great. It jumps better than my Honda did, and if you want to mod it there is plenty of stuff avail. to go from fastest to suicidal. The best thing would be to ride as many kinds as you can. If you can take another ride on the DS and tighten up the pre-load to fit your weight. GL whatever you pick.
