Ive wandered this for a long time now, dont you guys think it would be awesome if manufactures started putting their moto-cross 250cc 4-strokers into light weight and agile frames? ya the 450 movement is starting to roll pretty well (thanks to cannondale). but what about people who still want a hi-performance moto-style 4-stroke but dont feel like spending over $6500 or more? i am one of those people. yes sure the 250's arent as powerful as the 450's, but the 250 would make a heck of an awesome trail machine. i mean, if yamaha would take their YZ250-F engine, and slap it inside the Blaster frame, that would be one cool combination. amagine if Yama, Kawi, Zuki, Honda(bleh), and maybe even KTM made them....thatd rock. what do you all think? i think it would be awesome, and i would buy one in a second (not literally) .

they will never be as good as the 2 stroke powered 250s like the R and they should have made 250s with 2 stroke

The 250 Four Strokes were never made to compete with a 250 2 stroke. Thats what the 450's were made for. The 250 four strokes is in the power class of the 125 two strokes. I have a honda trx250x and it is a fun bike to ride but a little more power like from the newer 250 four strokes would make it alot more fun.

 

250 four strokes would be no match for 250 two strokes
