Sandgod I thought the full package on the 450 kit was supposed to be pumping out close to 50hp, and thats with the higher comp, full port and polish, injector reangle etc etc.
If thats true and knowing what a properly mapped out and set up 432 is able to do acceleration wise I wouldnt think there would be such a close run with the yfz with just the basic intake, exhaust and cam mod? yea that was a question
Did you have your engine done or just purchased one of the ATK ones (I didnt think they were avail yet)?

HP numbers mean nothing. There are many different dyno's and different operators who set them up so it's like comparing apples to oranges.. Quads must be tested on the same day on the same dyno by the same operator w/ no influence for any brand to win. My previous post is just a good educted guess of an outcome from my experience. It could be wrong, but I suspect it will be like I stated. Just trying to be honest is all..
My piston is only if Wade builds your motor. He has a different piston for ATK. The ATK piston is the same as the one's Champion and Diamond get who are back east. Wade designed the piston for ATK also. ATK doesn't do headwork, reangle injectors, or porting, which Wade did on my motor.. ATK offer's the 450 kit w/ the internal reliabilty enhancements that basically put Cannondale under. You can by a new 04 ATK450 w/ the Motard 5th gear and all internal goodies for 6900. Not bad considering what the YFZ and Honda now cost. Jeff Stoes of the Q U A D S HO P races an 04 ATK 450 and is currently around 8th in points behind Yokley, Balance and company in the GNCC Pro production class. He didn't get one DNF on his Dale last year and raced every GNCC event.. They are compettive w/ a good rider like any machine.. The ATK450 is still made in the USA in Utah. Frank White is the owner. The DINLI is made in Taiwan and some guy who's got a last name I can't even pronounce probably owns them.. LOL..

OK that clears some of it up
I thought Wade had gone to ATK after the raw deal he got from his other previous employer, is that true or rumor?
Anyhow I know of many of the people your talking about here and cant see anything to argue about etc. and I guess I was just assumeing that since there are people on the east coast doing those special mods to the engine that the more reliability ones would be in the new engine from ATK also.
Your take on the dyno numbers is in line with my own, but what are your opinions in regards to why the cdale with all the mods listed that should be near 50rwhp would be having the results you claimed with the yfz or crf etc.?
That Jeff is pretty damn fast huh, see how the wind just pulled all his hair from under his helmet he goes so fast (JK jeffro lol) and I dont think too many of the riders or even racers that have maintained the quad and have kept up with the updates etc have had many problems. I know of a few a and c class riders that ride the life out of these things without problem, and also without all the engine mods I have had to deal with on mine. Sure there not stock but the basic cdale bore, comp head cams etc are just not needing to be replaced or "tweeked" as much as the ole 400ex needs.
One last is if you know of when the new ATK should be out of production or better yet seen any in the showroom?
