ds vs. raptor vs. predator
#81
Horses for courses Gentelmen
I own a DS, ive ridden a raptor and i just saw a couple of preds race this weekend
I considered buying a pred but was put of as the mechanicals were unproven long term but having seen them race , they did realy well, (dirt track, lot of direction changes no jumps) I think it was there turning abilaty that gave them the edge.
The raptor was to tippy for the type of riding i do (dunes, off camber tracks ect) but would be good in the woods
The DS feels faster than the raptor stock for stock thats ,seat of the pants, i have not had the opertunity to ride with one yet but will soon but by then i will have a few mods so the comparison will be unfair.
But the thing is it doesnt realy matter to the rest of the planet who is fastest in a straight line. only drag racers and with them its all down to mods and $ invested.
I have a freind with a piped 400 EX who i almost kill myself trying to keep up with on some tracks His bike has a magic part A TALENTED GUY conecting the seat to the bars
so ride your bikes and be happy and tell your freind you are the quickest when you have just left a hundred yards on them through a fair strech of whatever terain you ride

i had a craptor and it was fast. But not that fast and the reverse on it sucked because it was not low rev. so i'd have to hammer on the throttle to make it go backwards .It was also way too tippy i would tip it on its side all the time the only good thing about it was it was quick and it hauld mad wheelys other than that it was not worth the 6500 it cost when i bought it. It had a k&n air filter stage 1 jet ket and a slip-on R4 wb pipe so it was not stock

These machines were tested against each other in this month's ATV Rider. The Predator was the clear winner in their test. They also called in some "regular joes" to test it and they also chose the Predator first.

maineracer6969- Do you even no how to type or make a sentence. Your info doesn't even make sense.
shaman - Magazines don't even tell the truth half the time, pretty much all BS. You can get Dirtwheels and they will say the DS650 is the fastest and you can get ATV Rider and have the Pred the fastest and then you can get ATV Action and get the Raptor the fastest.
Fact is that there all so close in Accel and Top Speed. The Better rider out of the 3 will win. The lightest rider out of the 3 will most likely have more Top end then the other. All Awesome quads

Well I feel the same way about my Raptor when I hope on my buddys Pred. I want to get back on the Yamaha. And for tippyness and stuff I can do donuts and then he trys to do them and he flips. I like the Raptor better but he likes his Pred better but whatever you ride you will like better then the other. I like Yamaha and he likes Polaris. All I know is I got him in the speed runs and thats all good by me. We accel about the same and I can just go by him at any time. I got 2 mph more on Top End so it just gets better

I can spin my Pred around in a circle even on pavement without flipping it. It's fantastic for that. The rear is designed to be hung out, so I really would have to put that down to riding differences between the two. Being tippy is kind of like that too, but honestly the Raptor really does have a higher centre of gravity.
But... the Raptor was my second choice. I love the big bore motors for torque. It was the included running gear and the overall design of the Predator that won me. If you can't have fun on either of these machines, you need to pick another sport.
P.S. I could have bought a very lightly used Baja X with some mods but it was bloody expensive and it's just so... big.

YRO...you don't know a whole lot either....plus you just joined recently, so don't be embarrasing yourself too badly. The predator can run right with the raptor, wether you believe it or not....
