ds vs. raptor vs. predator
#62
I drag race every Friday night I get the chance( 8.92 @ 71.32 mph 1/8 th on stock Pred.) and I never saw a piped Raptor run better than 9.4 . Since all these fast Raptors seem to live so far away why don't they just go to their local track and show us a 8.9 . Maybe they don't because they can't? It seems (to me atleast) that an 1/8th mi on asphalt with lights is a true test of acceleration for any quad. So YRO, Yamaha 660,AA Raptor, and any other Raptor (with no motor work or NOS) GO TRY YOUR LUCK.

I didn't expect some of you to believe me because of your denial. So AARaptor you should listen real close for the pop............................It will be a sign that you just pulled your head out of your a$$.

THIS IS A COPY AND PASTE....JUST ADD THE DS. MAN, I USED TO IGNORE THESE THREADS....NOW I WILL JUST KEEP POSTING THE SAME THING, SINCE IT IS, WELL, THE SAME SUBJECT............
-------------------------------
A quick story.........
After months of research I just got a new 2004 Rappy. My second choice would have been the Pred, which by the way my friend did choose. We ride fast, hardcore, mountain trails.........so all you people concerned with slight hp diffs, and top speed can shove it. No long flat straights, which most of you don't ride either. It doesn't make much diff which bike you have when they are so close stock. Matter of fact, good riders know how valuable suspension is, along with the ability of a bike to get and hold to the ground(jumping not withstanding). Funny, you don't see non stop threads about that.
So because I got the raptor is it better. Nope. Just different. My friend and I are good riders who push each other.....because with these two bikes(in most conditions) it does come down to the rider.
---------------------
After a few days of riding, we did the old 'switch' for a 1/2 an hour or so.
What I said to him after riding 1) absolutely yours feels like it has a softer suspension and a feels like you have a little more 'slide' control. 2)power and acceleration on the low end 'felt' better, but on the top(5th big time) lacked. I would have no problem if I had chosen it.
What he said to me 1)More power and acceleration on the top end(see #2 above) 2) Felt that the riding position was much more comfortable for him on the Raptor, as he is tall. He just feels a little cramped on the Pred for whatever reason.
----------------------
I doubt anybody but a true pro would see a big difference in these two bikes on anything but a flat track. Even so, I would never bash a Pred.........and ignore anybody bashing the Raptor. Both are top of the line. Be happy if your lucky enough to own one.

Pred Vs Raptor Stock for Stock
Me and Superballs Finally got to ride today and it was a great day. We did some drag races and they were pretty even. In Accel there pretty much dead even but I pulled on him by about 3 mph on Top End. His Pred is doing 74.8 to 75.2 and My Raptor is doing 77.2 to 78.0. The Pred is a great bike though and I like it. Then Superballs was jumping and he flipped his quad all the way over and it just flew and landing back on its wheels. Didnt brake nothing and then he was doing donuts and he flew off his quad and the quad was still going and i got off my quad and ran after it and hopped on it. it was funny as He!!. But out of me and Superballs PRED My Raptor did come out on top in are drag races. Both Pavement and Dirt

I've already went into my motor. 686...
With a pipe, I beat a Pred with the baffle out, and a 13 tooth sprocket by about 10 lenghts in a 1/2 mile run on asphalt. I would hate to see what happens with the new 686, against any stock or piped Pred.

10 lengths?? I don't think so...I don't have hardly and mods...but the ones that really make her run good, and I'd race you any day. I don't think you could even beat me with you new kit.
