First off, hello. This is my first post on this message boad. I have a 1986 Suzuki LT250R with a FMF Fatty Pipe, PowerCore Muffler, SpiderTrax Tires, Renthal Bars. I am in the proccess of rebuilding the engine completely, we bougt all new gaskets, Crankcase, Weisco Performance Piston, the whole 9 yds...
Any way, i was wondering how fast this quad is? it has a manual clutch 5 speed, i was wondering what an aprox. Top end for this quad might be, and how it compares in draging, dunes, trails ect. with a 1999 Kawasaki mojave. Any info would be great, or any tips too, Thank you all! Bye.

 

Hello welcome to the forums. your quadracer aka lt will beat any mojave anyday. It should top out any where between 65-75+ it depends on your gearing and rear tire size. For better handling you could buy spacers. Later...

 

It will put a whoopin on a Mojave in just about every way except fuel mileage. Should do around 65 top end with stock size tires and gears. Stock gears are 12/42 and i forget what the stock tires were.

 

Are you putting in new crank shaft seals, Its worh it

 

Yea i would say it should top 65-70mph with stock gearing. IT should smoke a mojave!

 

Thanks for all the info, it has stock gearing as far as i know, and it has SpiderTrax tires in the rear, pretty large with "V" treads. We are putting all new oil seals in it, were looking for a place to weld it at though, the Crankcase has a 1 1/2 inch whole in it. We found out we cant get a new one because they are Discontinued. I also wanted to know how high these 2 strokes red line at about, and how much power est. do they make? (hp) it has a weisco forged aluminum racing piston, FMF Fatty/Powercore exaust, the intake and exaust ports have been polished and made larger. Thanks for all the info so far!
