Here check out this pred....this is my dealers pred....most likely it is faster than you...so you may want to keep your thoughts to yourself, if you like your brand that is fine, but don't say ours is crap. Pretty Fast Predator

You cant beat the Predator in stock form..

You get,Douglas rims,Razr tires,Fox shocks,Braided steel break lines,Chromoly axle,PRO steering and very powerful 42hp 500cc DOHC engine..

To top it all off the 04 models are perfect,shifts nice,wheelies are easy and the ride is smooth..

I got my 04 Troy Lee Predator for 5,600 OTD... Can you beat that?

 

Lets see. Everyone says to stop fighting about their machines, then post in a thread like this.. If you're gonna take the high horse and preach from a soapbox, try to stay consistent. Also, enough of the 42 hp stock. That number came from Trinity. This was at the same time they said that their 727 raptor was 75 hp and the 686 was 65 hp.. Many people with the 686&727 motors dyno'd and no one got near those numbers.

the predator is overrated, if people are willing to mod a 400 its better than a pred...my DVX was 5200 and with 1000 in mods it will kill a predator in drags and still be able to beat it on the track, and all the preds around here are 5999 without tax....i think thats a smarter choice because your lighter, you look better, and you have a reverse if thats a factor with anyone

 

I think you are a little over the top there....you won't kill me in a drag race with equal money spent....and you aren't going to win on the track either....I could win on the track, leaving it stock......but if I just wanted to mod something, which we aren't even really talking about(somehow you brought up money when we are actually talking about the best stock quad, regardless of price), but I would buy a 2k sport....and lighten that up and then dump about 3 or 4k into it.....then I would smoke many things.....but thats not what we are talking about....

 

stock for stock u get the most bang for the buck w/ the pred no ???????? asked. after carefully looking at all the quads out i felt hands down the pred was the best out the box. and at a great price. maybe us pred owners saved money by not having to have our atvs shipped from 1/2 way around the world.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Why not just go with a 500 Scrambler 4x4? It has good suspension, the 4x4 will make riding in sand a lot easier, especially if climbing, and it has tons of power. The only way you can get a 2x4 to work in the sand as well would be to put on paddle tires, and you would have to change them out or have two sets of wheels when it came time for riding on hard surfaces.
