Surprized by Predator

The predators are deadly when it comes to draggin. I have raced predators several times with my Z and only beatin one once. But in the trails or mx tracks they don't seem to do that well. I am not flaming anyone or saying they are a shi11y bike, but look at the top pro's. The Z's, YZF450's and I image the new 450R seem to dominate the standings. The predators don't seem to be at the top, but for most of us weekend warriors, I think the predator is still a good quad.(not as good as the Z though.)

ha on the z part...I dont think the pros use them much because they just don't use polaris.....Some of the good people are doing well with preds though, atleast around our area. Matt Nicholas is pretty good on one.

My intent was not to get into a "which is better a Z or a Pred"... I believe both have their advantage...I ride a Z and love the thing. But wouldnt mind having another sport quad (like a pred or 450r) to provide an additional/different riding experience on occassionally and have something for when the buddies come visit and want to ride
I was targeting it more towards people who have had them or have a buddy they ride with that has one, and get some feedback in regards to my experiences this weekend. Where do they mostly ride them and how do they hold up...their opinions on the quad etc... Does anyone race them and if so share some experience and their view on how they hold up. Just looking for information exchange...negative and positive...not brand loyal ******** beating their chest because somone isnt on their knees bowing to their bike and instead chose to provide some contructive critizism or negative experiences. I would hope a 500 cc quad could beat a 400...hope it beats the 450s...me personally how a quad does draggin is low on my priority list...still nice if it does well though
To reiterate on my original post...i was/am considering a predator...however, this weekend i ran into an individual that had one for sale next to a z, 450r and c-dale they were racing...his feedback was it was plenty fast and climbed great in the sand but couldnt stand up to the abuse of the track like the other quads in his stable...if your experience is different please share...however the more bias you sound in your post the less crediable your response is preceived. The following day on my KFX 400 i ran into one on a short, aggressive, mx track...me being, in my opinion, not a very experienced rider, and the pred rider stating he was fairly experienced...i was put off by how much easier the stock suspension KFX took that track compared to the experience rider on the pred...it looked heavy, didnt seem to launch well, and the 400 just seemed far more nimble and manuevered better throughout the course. Now, like i have said, it is a short track where you are turning, jumping or hitting moguls on practically every inch of that track....that could have been a factor...maybe if their were straight aways and places to open her up the pred would have come alive...i dont know...THATS WHY I AM ASKING...does it make sense a lighter quad would have a little advantage under those riding conditions...anyone else experience it and notice a big difference on a bigger track or technical conditions...I really dont think riding ability really was what brought the KFX around...i cant even hold a wheelie on that think for very long....and everyone tells me the z and 400ex are about the easiest quads to wheelie....go figure
Again, this isnt an attempt to slam the pred or get into a "which is better"....just ran into some info on a quad i was/am interested in this weekend and need to validate that information...or find out why the situations may have been so atypical...thanks and good quading

last sat. at one of the races on the line was 3 yfz450 a banshee and a predator. I'm a yamaha guy but the guy on the predator took first place. I talk to the guy at the end of the race and (he had a banshee last year but trade in for a predator) he said that the predator takes corner's very good and it not a slow bike with the right mods.
