Default Question before buying 89 LT500 "Quadzilla"

They are insane bikes. Like most people said, as long as you take care of it, they can be reliable. Be careful... lol.. I am sure you will go *** over tea kettle at least once before you get a good feel for it.

Default Question before buying 89 LT500 "Quadzilla"

I have ridden with three different guys that had 500 zillas great power ,some what hard to start
if modded. one of the machines had quite a lot of moter vibration. $1800 sounds pretty good for
old school big bore. if your not sure about the power , put some time behind the bars before purchasing.

Default Question before buying 89 LT500 "Quadzilla"

The Zilla is probably the ultimate drag racing/dune running machine. The powerband on the Zilla is insane from beginning to end, mainly because it's a 500cc two stroke. Mininmal mods and you're almost untouchable. As far as mx goes, seek another quad. The Zilla puts way to much power to the ground and it's not very nimble compared to some of the newer quads. If the track has a long sraight you may make up some time, but the corners and jumps will kill you. I love Zillas, but they have their place and it's not mx. Zillas may have been an mx-er in 1987, but let's face it, that was almost 20 years ago. I will admit though, dollar for dollar, they are the fastest quad you can buy!
