how fast is this shee

My Banshee at the dragstrip with a 16-41 pulled just over 93mph and it was topped out in 6th gear. I am far from a stock motor with in-frame drag pipes, larger carbs, 18cc heads, and porting. A calibrated radar gun or dragstrip type timer is the only good source for correct speed readings.

With 15/41 gearing, at 10,000rpms in 6th gear a banshee will do 86mph. Good luck spinning a stock motor to 10,000 in 6th. Most built banshees make peak power at 95-9700 and fall off quickly after that. It hard to get even a built one much over 10 grand under heavy load.

Our Cop Friend must have a $hitty Radar Gun or something because my Banshee did around 81 to 83 mph with a 15/41 gearing and it is totally stock. I think that it should be able to do in the 90s with his setup and different gearing, How fast were your banshees when they were Stock? Just wondering

I never have put a radar gun on any of my bikes. If you take the rpm's of the motor and figure in transmission ratio and then add in the final drive ratio as well as the tire size, that will give you a top speed. I use an excel spreadsheet to figure this. This number is consistant. It has nothing to do with wind or any other factor because if you are going against the wind, your motor can't rev as high. My TT bike with 16/39 gearing will turn 82 MPH in 5th at 10,000. I think it is only like 92-93 in 6th.

when you do the spreadsheet do you figure parasitic loss (loss from machines not being 100% perfect) every connection from the motor down to the ground loses a little bit of power dont know how much it would be for a atv though!!!
