Default 450r vs. 300ex at the dragstrip

he must have alot of money into that 300,300ex wont do 66mph stock or with bolt on mods,66mph is pretty much the top speed a slightly modded 400ex,its kinda hard for me to believe without seeing it..

A 400ex will run 69/70 mph. That's on black top running through a road construction radar.

ok 66-70 mph,my buddies 02 400 with a pro circuit pipe, jetted,k&n filter with a aftermarket open airbox only does 66mph,thats why i said thati wish it did 70,because that would mean my scrambler does 72-74 mph

The 450 has a tall 1st gear. Maybe that is why the 300 is jumping him off the line.

No need to argue over top speeds...too many variables. Wind, slope, tire pressure, accuracy of GPS, whether you are actually at rev limiter, all could affect the outcome.

ya but dont forget, a strong running 300 will only make 13-15 hp stock, while a 450 makes about 35-37. i dont think a tall first gear will hurt it

Default 450r vs. 300ex at the dragstrip

One of the last Dirt Wheels had a story about a 330ex that was neck and neck with a z400 in the drags, and they gave them a rolling start because with the longer swingarm the 330 was getting the hole shot. I imagine that machine woulda been a fair race against a 450r. Might not win but I'm sure it would surprise people.

I just cant see putting that kinda money in a 300ex...
