I saw a father on a 450r lowered with a fmf pipe and slicks race against is son about the same size just younger on a 300ex. The kid got about a 1/2 bike jump on the guy off the tree and was actually a tight race to about the 90 foot mark. Then the 450r slowly pulled away. There times were 450R 74mph @ 8.95 in the 1/8 and I dont recall the 300's time but it went 66mph. They raced several times with about the same times and speeds each time. That 300 was either really strong or that guy couldnt drive the 450. I was really surprised!

 

That 300 must have been extremely fast. My stock DS 650 runs very well and at our local track has run a best of 8.9 @ 69 mph. Most often it runs 9.1 or 9.2s.

I raced a warrior with a stock 450. My bros warrior had a pipe, and filter. Th e450 was stock, and it truly was a funny race. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

 

It was really unexpected. I didnt know you could get a 300 to do 66mph. But it was actually a tight race through about 4th gear.That kid on the 300 would have killed me and my 400.

 

he must have alot of money into that 300,300ex wont do 66mph stock or with bolt on mods,66mph is pretty much the top speed a slightly modded 400ex,its kinda hard for me to believe without seeing it..

it probably had a curtis sparks race stroker motor or something. my brother has a 250X with a curtis sparks head, 12-1 compression, and a few other mods, and it will out run piped 400exs.
