Default 450r vs. 300ex at the dragstrip

It's not the lighter weight of the swingarm that makes the differance. It's the length. A longer swingarm means you can get on the gas quicker without the front end coming up.

Also notice I didnt say the 330ex would beat the 450r. I said the 330ex would beat the 400ex and would probably be a closer race than people would expect. Much like the original poster was saying.

ya, i knew u meant the 330ex against the 400ex. i still don't think that it would keep up for the first couple hundred feet tho, but who knows, i've never seen a 330ex race a 400ex. the 300ex's front end doesn't really want to come up at all when u get hard on the gas. i find it hard to speed wheelie on that in the wet sand with paddles. i have to try to get the tires to leave the ground.

In the June issue of Dirt Wheels they showed a modded 330ex that was neck and neck in a drag with a Z400. They said the 330ex would've beatin it if they had started from a stop because the longer swingarm gave the 330ex more traction...

A z400 is a touch faster than a 400ex so by my math that 330ex would not only keep up, but win. That was a heavily modded 330ex with alot more power than stock. Probably has more hp than a 400ex. But this 330 probably cost close to 10k to build. Kinda nuts if ya ask me.
