kfx 400
400 ex

im checking on it for a friend,
weight?
more power?
top speed?
best jumper?
best wheelies?
best overall quad?

 

they are both great at wheelies. the ex is bulletproof. top speed and power goes to the kfx. both are pretty good at jumping but the kfx has better stock suspention. esp on the new models. im not sure about weight. 400ex im guessing but probably not by much. remember the kfx has reverse. (the new 400ex "450R's" (450R plastics) have reverse too). i think the kfx is the best overall but its just my opinion. the 400ex is a little outdated but not to diss it cuz its still an awesome machine. great balance for wheelies. just lacks some power imo. hope this helps. what kind of riding does your friend do? is he planning on buying a new quad or used?

 

If I am riding tight trails that are semi-technical, I pick the EX. Its motor doesn't mind being lugged down and ridden slow. The Z (KFX is a Z clone) on the other hand has an engine that likes to rev. I pick the Z for everything else. The Z is by far the best all-around machine available.

 

The choice is very simple IF he must buy a used machine buy the 400ex if new then buy the KFX

 

How is the kfx faster than the z. I thought they were exact same, except for the color?

 

They are the same. Go get the March issue of DirtWheels, I think they picked the Z for everything.
