03 stock 450r or 04 HMF pipe and jetted Z400? a kid at school just bought the 450 and i was wondering if drag raced him if i would stand a chance. I want to smoke him just for pride but i wanna make sure it is possible first.

 

the stock z goes almost 70 so your probablt hitting 73 - 75 a stock 450 will go 78 .4

 

what about bottom end to mid range?

 

I raced a piped Z when my R had about 2 hours on it. He got smoked. I was up about 5 lengths in 200 yds.

 

ya u are going to need a wicked holeshot to hold im off for a little while or get a cam

 

no way the 450r would take it all the way.

 

Hmm, the only 03 450 machines I know of are on 2 wheels...

Regardless, quad or bike, you will lose.

the 450R will win. A slip-on a jet kit doesnt do much for the Z400 besides add alot of noise.

 

I would say it is all about your riding ability. I have raced my friends stock YFZ-450 and won him on my stock KFX-400. I have been riding for a long time and he is new to four-wheeling.
