Default Sand Dunes???

I haven't been to the dunes yet, but plan on going soon. My question is do I need to have paddles? I want to be able to keep up with my friends, but I'm kinda short on money right now.

I't may sound like alot but i'd go ahead and buy a set of tire/rims from itp. It is around 200 dollars. Then you can shoot hills drag race wheelie all day. Then when you go home your town might have a fair with a mudbog. If they do you could intimidate alot of people with a set of sand stars or something. Plus you have them to back to the dunes another day. Stock tires are a blast to roost and slide around on but don't have the traction. Its like putting slicks on and trying to ride in wet grass. Sure go ahead and but them thats if you want to be in front of your buddies all the time. Do you?

No you dont need them.. I assume you are going to silver lake?? I have been there three times last summer and never needed paddles...Never got stuck and made it to the top of every hill. Let some air out of the tires and you will be fine.....

As was mentioned, drop the air pressure down.
I'd try about 3 lbs to start out with.

havent been to the dunes yet with my soon to be new yfz and prolly wont get to this summer due the injury (broken collarbone) and because of high school football. but next summer i hope to meet many of you at silver lake. but i have ridden there with quads with and without paddles and i will tell you that paddles are much much more fun.

someone mentioned 200 bucks for paddles and wheels but you dont need new wheels, they are always nice, but not neccesary, you can get paddles like sand stars for about 50 bucks a piece and later you can get wheels to fit your paddles,
