#1
Hi
I currently have a 94 warrior and have decidede its not what i want.Im looking for something quicker on its feet and a faster top end and definetly lighter.I learnt ow to ride and got into from riding my cousin s blaster back when i was about 8 and just bought my fitst 4 wheeler the warrior about 3 months ago.Well mt cousin and friends have all upraded and to z 400s or ex s and i m behind them.I was just wondering what you guys think i should jump up to 2 or 4 stroke.Ride open fields to tight trails to big wooded trailed hill climbs .I always find myself just always reving my warrior up and trying to ride it liek a 2 stroke i usually dont liek to lug around i v e always been into the rev ing thing.Which is leading me to a 2 stoke.BUt do u think i will be happy with a 2 stroke.IF i get a 2 stroke i want either a quadzilla banshee or one of the two 250 rs.What do you gusy think i should do.(i m dont want to go over 3500 dollars)
Thnaks and sorry for beign so long

With your type of riding i would go with a 4 stroke. If you had the extra money you should get either a honda 450r or yamaha 450, They are both high reving 4 strokes that deliver power like 2 strokes. And you would blow away you buddies on there 400's. I have a 450r and its a bad *** quad. It flys threw the trails and up hills, and jumps greal too. Super light only 350lbs. But it would be real hard to find one for $3500. If all u can get it $3500, look for a modded 400ex or z400, or even a raptor. 2 strokes are great but for ur type of riding i think 4 stroke would be best. Plus u wont have to rebuild a 4 stroke every year.

pretending ur on a 2stroke and being on one is completely different. on a 2stroke actually do have to rev it up and do alot of clutch work just to keep it from bogging down. a four stroke is defaintly what u need. a yfz 450 hits hard in the midrange just like a 2 stroke but that is almost double what you said ur price range is. look for a used Z400 or even a raptor.

I use to have a 93 warrior, then i upgraded to a 660R and their is no comparison between the two. The Raptor will kill the warrior from off the start to top speed. The Raptor is a little bit heavier but it makes up for it in power, i never notice how heavy it is beacuse you can pull the front end up in the first three gears. I really did like the warrior when i had it but i would never go back. The Raptor is a great trail quad just like the warrior. I would also recommend the YFZ 450 it revs up almost as high as a two stroke, but has the torque of a four stroke. They are awesome for hill climbing, and racing but they cost alot.

I agree with all these guys, you should get a four stroke. For your price range, I also think that you should look for a z400 or 400ex. The only problem with those, is that they are not very high revving. Since you mentioned that you like that, that's probably gonne be something you just have to deal with. I have a 400ex and a yfz450. the 400 is a really low rpm runner. I find myself shifting WAY before the limiter. It just runs out of power in the gears really quick, and your much better off shifting. Dang good bike though. My personal advice though, is that you just wait a little longer and save some more money, bite the bullet, and get a 450. I recomend the yfz, 'couse the two stroke like violent power band, but the honda is bad *** also.

It all depends on what kind of power deivery you want. A proper set up 2 -stroke is just as good if not better then a 4 stroke. As far myself I have owned a banshee for 15 years and I can ride it slower in the woods then the 4 bangers and the power delivery is no wheres as bad as people say it is. I can chug the ole girl all day long and keep up with the 4 strokes, no problem. The closest thing I have rode to a shee is a YFZ 450 but still not the same thrilling power delivery that puts a smile on your face.
The 4 strokes are nice in terms of how light they are, have better suspension and better ergonomics then the shee, but around here in NY I can get a new shee for at least $1000 dollars less. So with this extra grand you can get pipes, porting, head mods and good read cages. And if you are looking to spend $3500 you can get a 2002 or newer shee probably in mint condition with some goodies.

To go from a warrior to a quadzilla is quite the jump in performance. I've always considered it to be a death trap. A banshee sounds quite apropriate if you like to rev. I've never been much of a fan of revving, but every time I hop on a banshee I find myself reconsidering that position.
