Top Speed Info.
I live in coastal Georgia, and my uncle has collected an assortment of Sport ATV's, over the last 20 years or so. He just so happens to own some of the most coveted stock machines ever made. Of these of course is the '87 Quadzilla 500, '84 Tecate 3 250, '89 Banshee, '86 250 R, and the newer quads which are still in the crate, not even assembled yet. Those are 2005 models 450 R and YFZ 450.
Yesterday on our once a month outing, we ran the ATV's at full speed and clocked them on pavement with my 190 lbs. frame with a handheld GPS. Average speeds for approx. 1800 ft. are as followed: Quadzilla : 79.9 MPH
Banshee : 76.4 MPH
Tecate 3 : 77.7 MPH
250 R : 74.3 MPH
All are stock, and are 2 stroke engines with about 6 hrs. apiece on them.
I am in the process of getting some pictures of them, and putting them on here for everyone to
After we put them up, I then pulled out my 2003 Banshee with Toomey T-6's, and Air Intake Modifications including V Force Reeds, etc.
and it ran with stock gearing 78.5 MPH
I will see if I can put some of the pics of the Quads on here soon, everyone will drool at how these beasts are in such original condition. I know I wish they were mine!!
