Default Some questions for you guys

1. Im planning on putting on an aftermarket full system. Is it possible for me to get a white brothers e series head pipe and an hmf exhaust and combine the two or am I better of just getting a full exhaust system from big gun, fmf, or white brothers.

2. When I put on the aftermarket full exhaust and a kn filter and then decide to get an aftermarket camshaft from web cams since they are the only one to make them, do I get the cam for stock or for up'ed motors. Also do I have to buy anything else thats super expensive to go with it.

3. If I were to buy bigger pistons from wiseco like .80" over, do I need to buy anything else with it to make it good, besides having my cylinder and pistons bored out correctly.

4. Would a new keihen(or however you spell) or minuki carb make my 4-wheeler better. Im not planning on getting more mm one but jst a new one.

Also what does a dial-a-jet do and is it worth buying, what does a killswitch do and where can I find it...

Sorry for all the question but I would rather have it all in one post than have them seperately in like 10 different posts.

Thanks,
Mike

Default Some questions for you guys

1) I would just go with a full system from one manufacturer on the pipe. That way the header will be "tuned" better for the muffler. Otherwise the parts may not even match up.

2) Higher performance cams will give you better performance if you have had more engine work done. However, you have some latitude as to what will work with your motor. It would be best to call a few companies and see what they have that will move the power output where you want it.

3) Just having your cylinder punched out to .080 over won't give you much performance, and the next time it needs a new piston you may well end up with a new sleeve and back to stock bore anyway. A good kit from a reputable company will come with what you need to replace the piston, rings, gaskets, etc. Some people will replace the con rod and what not also while they are in there though.

4) I don't remember what carb is in the 250x, although I am pretty sure you can buy a better performing carb for it. If yours is in good shape it may not be worth the expense.

5) Dial a Jet basically works from the vacuum of your intake to take gas from your floatbowl, atomize it, and put it into the intake. It is adjustable and is supposed to give better throttle response while allowing you to make some jetting changes without opening the carb.

6) By killswitch I assume you mean the racing style? They operate just like the stock killswitch, just with a different mechanism. You attach a cord to your belt/clothing and the other end turns on the switch. If you crash or otherwise fall off, the circuit gets broken and shuts off the machine. This is a safety feature required for just about all forms of organized racing.

I know for mine, the hmf header is actually bigger in diameter than stack and not just different bends. I didn't get the hmf header, but if I decide I want it all I gotta do is cut the end of my slip on. With some companies, such as hmf, you can buy a slip on the add the header later on down the road. But you gotta check, with some companies the slip on can is different from the full system can.
