hey mo250rules,
You have posts all over the place on Lakotas and Mojaves. I'll tell you my experience and what I think you need to know to make a good decision. First of all you ask a lot of questions about top speed, jumping and trail handling which leads me to beleive you are mostly interested in sport type riding. If this is the case the Mojave is the obvious best choice, it is faster, jumps better, is lighter and handles better, although only slightly, then the Lakota. The only reason not to go with the mojo would be if you don't want a manual clutch or kick start. Now if you want a lot of sport in a sport utility with electric start and an auto clutch, then the Lakota has your name on it. The 2001 lakota sport is no different than the previous lakotas, just has the racks removed and a mojave headlight and grab bar. Looks cool with the blue plastic though. I have modded several Mojaves and one Lakota. Many of the aftermarket parts fit both bikes but if highly modding the bike is what you plan to do the mojo is a better choice. there is more stuff avaiable for the Mojo than the Lakota. If you prefer mudding and rough trails crawling over large rocks and stuff as much as sport riding get the Lakota, it has good bottom end and mid range power for its size. It is also 2 inches longer than the mojave.
