Dirt with stock tires. We have since raced AGAIN, using the same bikes, and again the results were identical.
Once again, we switched bikes, and got nearly the same results.

As far as racing the Raptor is concerned, my buddy that owns the Raptor says mine has more "sudden" power than his.
I don't know........

1/4 mile is a top end race for those bikes. Does the z stay close for a while before you start pulling away? You must be running well over 70 mph to be doing that to a z.

3 things:
#1. I think my buddie's Z has some issues. Where we ride, you can ride ALL DAY in one direction and NEVER see another human being, let alone another quad. We took our quads to a more popular place, and he was getting smoked by the other z's. I raced them as well. While I did not win MOST of the drags, I still won SOME (which tells me that these two bikes, the EX and the Z are close enough in which the rider will make all the differenc.). To be nice, I let them take mt EX for a couple of laps, and they all stated that it had WAY more torque than other ex's they have rode....Again I don't know....
#2. I don't claim to know much about engines, so I had them look my engine over, in the hopes they could find a mod that I did not know about. They found none.
#3. I raced the raptor. He beat me. Yet he still thinks it has too much torque to be an EX....Any ideas?

I did in fact buy it used. It was/is in perfect condition.
Besides the freakish torque (for an ex), what should I look for in mods??
All i know for sure:
White Bros. E series
Jetted.
Stock filter.
Stock sprocket (Front and back).
I'm baffled....

Are you positive your friend's Z is bone stock? If he's gone down 1t on the countershaft sprocket, that would make a considerable difference in top end speed.
