PICKING A FIGHT.......

Just the facts:
I have a 2004 400 EX. Only mod is a White Bros. E series pipe.
My buddy has a 2005 z400 bone stock.
We raced and I beat him by 10 quad lengths in approx. 1/4 mile.
Doubting the validity of the results, we switched quads. Raced again. Almost the exact same results.
I have another friend that has a 660 Raptor. Have never raced him, yet he was hanging around my house one day and he rode my EX. He was AMAZED at the torque my ex has, to the extent that when he raves about the power my EX has, people give him a hard time since he is a Raptor owner.
My question: Do I own a fluke? Or is the z400 just so much hype?

I'm wondering if you bought your EX new, if not maybe it has some motor mods you don't know about. 10 quad lengths is alot, maybe the Z is a little out of tune. If your pipe is the only mod, that might be enough to beat a stock Z because the margin of a Z over an EX is slim in a drag race. I have an '03 KFX, I don't like how it handles but it's real quick in a drag.

My wife rode her Z400 for the first time over Thanksgiving. She consistantly beat another friend on his '04 400ex that is piped. Only way my wife is a "better" rider is, she is fearless I was shocked along with everyone else that she consistantly beat him Kudos to her maybe it is the quad

In the summer I dragged my friends 02' ex with full white bros e-series pipe, K&N w/lid off and jet kit he also had stock gearing with 22" mudlites. It was in a gravel pit but numerous times and we were dead even or I had him by 1 length...if I didnt have the stock radials then I wouldve had him cause I was spinning out too much and he wasnt.

I think your buddy was on a 250. I have never heard anyone say what you are saying, nor have I seen this happen.

And while the 400ex motor is more than capable of being a great trail engine, the only thing amazing about it is the reliabilty.
