Default Looking for sport quad 101

I am looking around at sport quads, I have a 450 Kodiak that I love, but was thinking about a sport quad for a little change. I don't want to spend alot of money and have no clue when it comes to the sport models. I don't have a preference in brands, though I lean toward Yamahas for my utility, just because they fit me well. I am about 220 pounds with a few years experience on utilities, but never been on a sport. Any thoughts/advise would be appreciated.

you can find a nice used honda 400ex or suzuki\kaw 400 for around 2500 to 3000. Both good sport quads that wont break the bank and if you dont like it you can sell them fast for the same price.

That is the direction I would lean as well. Great all around quad that can be had fairly cheap.

id stay go with a 400ex...u can pick em up so cheap now...2500-3000 in really nice condition...also its got great power and is a total blast to whip...u can probably find a KFX/Z400 for 3000 if u look around alittle but the 400ex is really a great deal...usually the KFX/Z's go for 3200-3800 cuz there still pretty new quads and just so much more up to date with technology like the liquid cooling and ect...

yeah i agree with all of you. the 400ex would be a good choice. i got mine for $4000 but it already had brand new tires, rims, bars, steering stabilizer and bumper on it.
