depending on where you live and what year the quad is top speed all stock is between 64 and 72 mph

 

i got my stock 03 z 400 up to 131km and hour on a gravel road according to the good old gps and i know for a fact that its faster than an 06 trx 400 cuz i raced my cousin who weighs a good 80pounds less and blew him away

 

Best to get that "good old gps" checked then.

What's the rev limiter on a Z400? According to the gearing calculator you'd have to be revving at around 9750 on a stock z to hit the claimed 81mph you say you did.

Now I know why people say the Raptors are so slow .. they can only do 75 ...

 

yeah, that's a little high for stock. It comes out to about 81 mph

sorry i guess i lied and didnt know it. the guy i bought the z off of lives across town and i rode over there to ask him why it goes so much faster then the others because he told me it was bone stock. turns out he switched the sprokets because he wrecked the one. this would also explain why i have such a hard time poping the front up to do a wheelie cuz the smaller the sprocket the more top end and less torque. But anyways does anyone know what the stock gears are or if i can get a bit bigger ones to give me more power out of the hole. doing sixty mphs down the trails will get me wrapped around a tree again
