400's Whats the best?
#1
I am looking into buying a 400 sport bike and i am wondering what is the best one to buy. What has the most power, handling, etc... One of my friends has a 400ex and he can bring it up in every gear. Are all the 400s like this (if you know how to drive them) my friend can drive and wheelie his wicked.

well in the 400 class i would have to go with any of the DVX/LTZ/KFX 400's there all the same exact quad just different plastics. in my opinion there more bang for the buck than the honda 400EX. although i doubt your friend can bring his 400ex up in every gear unless its modded out the wazoo. but any of the 400's i metioned are a nice quad to start out with its just a matter of what color you like best!

I like the EX for trail riding. It has an engine that doesn't mind being lugged down and ridden slowly, especially in the very technical stuff.
The Z likes to rev, and is a better choice for all around riding, especially where you will be in more open terrain. The Z is certainly faster than the EX, in a drag race.
Both have excellent handling!

Why you sold on the 400 class...price?
For 500 bucks more you can get a far superior Predator.

Actually for 2007 the Predator dropped its MSRP to 5999, which is exactly the same as the 400ex MSRP.
With the 400ex, DVX/LTZ/KFX 400's twins and the Predator 500 all being the same price I would without a doubt go with the Predator. The Predator is in a different class from these.

My EX is 7 years old. All I have had to do is replace the rear axle bearings recently (it was long overdue after such a long time!).
Had the Z for 4 years, and no porblems with it either. My brother in law has it now, and it is still going strong.

If you're looking into buying a 400EX, I'm trying to sell one. It's a 2002 with a Yoshimura RS-3 full exhaust, K&N air filter, Dyno jet kit and a WB Rev box. I just bought a 450 R so i dont need the EX anymore.
