Default oil to gas ratio for my trx250r

Run the ratio at whatever the BOTTLE says to run at. There has been a lot of research done on this by the oil manufacturers. They don't put those #'s on there by happenstance.

I would also recommend running the higher quality (fully synthetic) oils. Amsoil and redline are two that come to mind. They are both recommended at 50:1 if I remember correctly.

There are other fully synthetic oils out there too. Point is, find a good quality oil, run it at the ratio they recommend, and make sure your jetting is correct on your machine.

I am with DR Turbo on this one. All of my 2-strokes have also been run anywhere from 40:1 (Golden Spectro semi synthetic), to 50:1 (Amsoil Dominator, and Redline).

That is plenty of oil for your ATV assuming that you have your ATV jetted correctly. Of course, THAT is a whole other topic altogether! LOL!
