engine oil prob
#1
Ok, I've been having problems with my oil. Its a nice clean brown colour but theres a layer of foam on top of the oil, not thick or anything but still foamy. So today i went out and bought some AMSoil 10w40 synthetic. when i changed the oil i let the bike idle for about 10 minutes then i pulled the drain plugs and let the oil drain for a good 10 minutes. I picked the front of the bike up and more oil came out so i kept doing that for about another 10 minutes til no more drops. when i pulled the oil filter out it was a darker brown colour and was covered in the same lil bubbles of foam. I put the new filter in and the amsoil and started the bike up. after about 5 minutes i checked the oil and STILL BUBBLES. when i look in the oil tank all i can see is foam, looks like some1 pissed in my oil tank. i know i couldnt of got anymore oil out and i just spent like $40 on the filter and oil and i still got bubbles....
today is 5 degrees above zero so its not cold or anything so it should be fine....
I drive my dads 2006 canam outlander400 and the other suzuki's at my house all winter long and they dont have a problem with foamy oil
is the foam hurting my engine??? i got pissed after i noticed the bubbles were still there and went riding for about 2 hours. bike ran flawlessly.

In an Ontario winter I would run 5W30, and save the 10W40 for summer.
When it is cold, the oil is thicker and won't disperse the "bubles" so easily. Do you still see "bubles" after the oil and engine are fully warmed up????
Water or leaking coolant will form a white emulsion when mixed with oil.....is it that or just "bubbles" ????
Do you have one of the quads with magnesium covers, that are having corrosion issues ??????

i just got the clutch cover replaced like 3 weeks ago...i just noticed the bubbles after the clutch cover was changed....
its like Foam...the bubbles in the oil will go more and more the hotter the engine gets...but still a foam layer on top of the oil that i can see when i look into the oil tank...too hard to get a good pic of it or i would...
i swear it looks like someone pissed in the oil tank i can see foam...
maybe the D*cks at the dealership got coolant in the engine when they changed it...
is there any product i can buy to flush the engine out?

I think maybe you have coolant leaking into the engine. Is the water pump cover one of the things they replaced????????? I bet they didn't get a gasget sealed right..........

no because when i changed the oil i put it in a aluminum pan and the oil was prefect brown(oil was changed like 3 months ago and ive barely rode it since) no green or anything as if coolant was leaking in...I think the guys at the dealership drained that oil out when they replaced the clutch cover and then put the same oil back in and maybe water got in it or something else was in the pan before hand? ...i acutally know they didnt change the oil nor the filter cuz the filter was kinda brown when i looked at it yesturday when i changed the oil again...
I`m not driving my bike til like march or april or when it gets to like 5 degrees above zero atleast....
I`m pretty sure i got all the oil out when i changed it cuz the bike was hot and i let it drain for atleast 10 minutes and i kept lifting the bike up and more oil would come out. i guess the foam didnt come with it...there was foam in the oil pan though...then i put in the sythetic stuff and i noticed the foam again...its weird as hell
I just need some sort of product i can flush out the foam with....one guy told me to use transmission fluid because its thinner then oil and would pick up more foam but I dont reall wanna try that lol unless i find out its safe
