Black Plastic Bad Idea

Default Black Plastic Bad Idea

I just bought an 06 450r with the black plastics and man do they ever show scrtaches especialy with boots on, but i think the black is sweet. i think im gona put full alba graphics on it to cover as much up as possible, is there any other good ways to keep from scratching?

Yeah, that's the worst part about anything glossy black, even cars, it shows every little imperfection. We had a white car that appeared to be in immaculate condition, painted it a glossy black with metallic flake, and holy crap if that thing wasn't covered with little dents and crinkles.

But to keep your plastics looking good, try using some Mother's Plastic Polish after you wash it. It's time consuming but it'll buff out at least most of the scratches.

Mcgwires makes a plastic scratch remover that kinda works. My SE raptor is the same way. One good way to prevent the scrathces is to not hit it with your feet![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

LOL.. My black plastics still look new.. even after a year and a half of riding.. Only a few swirls.. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
Carefull washing and buffing/waxing and not touching/rubbing when dirty will help preserve your plastics. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
