That's a CRF150"R", he is talking about a CRF150"F", two different animals.
And BTW, a CRF150R will not come close to 75mph.
bigdog, no matter what he does to his crf150f, like big bore, it will not even come close to a YZ85. Might as well sell it and get a MX bike if he wants something fast.

the YZ85 is built for racing. Not gonna blow minds away in the start but when you get to the middle of the powerband the hit in power is EXTREME. If you aren't holding on tight it will buck your a$$ off the back. My little brother's 85 hangs with my 125 until about the top of 4th gear and the 125 starts pulling away pretty fast. Bottomline is, the crf150 is a beginners bike and the yz85 is for serious riders. If they really want to find out who's quicker, tell them to nut up and race it out.

you dont think a crf150r will hit 75mph???? a cr85r raced our car and was keeping up at more than 75mph- but it wasnt stock either- but not heavily modded
if you google crf150r review, there is one site that compares it to a yz85, they said it is about the same speed as the 85 but with a lot more low end grunt

And I'm not going ot argue about it all day, but a YZ85 and CRF150 R will top out in the lower 60's. They're not made to run at top speed, they are made for motocross, and in motocross you never come close to those speeds, they just take off really fast.

ppl always exaggerate when taking about top speed of their bikes. I know nothing about dirtbikes and im shocked that a yz85 will be faster. It must be a 2-stroke? right? thats such a small bike for that amount of power, what are they made for? a 13year old? god damn 60mph+ on a lil bike like that would be pretty intense

Top speed of both bikes should be anywhere from 60 - 65 MPH. It all depends on which bike will get there faster. The yz 85's 2 stroke power is too much for the 150f. It would get ahead in the start and never even look back.

you say the yz85 goes between 60-65mph, lets say 62mph- that is just about 100km/h, HOW CAN A CAR's SPEEDOMETER BE OFF BY 30km/h (19mph) WITHOUT COPS AND OTHER DRIVERS GETTING PISSED OFF BECAUSE YOU ARE EITHER GOING 19MPH UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT OR GOING 19MPH OVER!!!!
maybe if you weigh 250lbs- a yz85 hits only 65, but with a 115lb rider- there is no doubt that a cr85r will hit 75mph with a pipe and reeds.
manufacturers dont limit the power on dirtbikes nearly as much as on ATVs, most people are scared to go over 60mph on dirtbike in a field, and on the road- there isnt much to worry about since conditions are perfect, and your steering doesnt make it dangerous on pavement like it does on a quad.
I suppose you believe that R6's and R1's top out at 100mph too

BUT, I don't think you understand 85's are MOTOCROSS BIKES, and mx bikes are geared low, some bigger bikes don't even have a 5th gear, they do not top out that fast! A 250 smoker will only go about 80mph.
And why is it so scarry to go over 60mph on a bike? Bikes are more stable at speed than quads.
