i ride trails all the time... going to the track every once and a while, i was wondering if the yfz would be a better choice over the kawasaki, im still unsure because the yfz might be getting some upgrades in 09, feedback would be great

 

My buddy has the Kwai. It will lug more than the other 450's, so I like it best for trails. It's a great machine and you are getting fuel injection, but it's certainly not the magic carpet that some of the mags are calling it.

I like the YFZ for play riding and jumping, but wouldn't want to do a long desert ride on either it or the Kawi.

As for upgrades, you can spend your life waiting for "upgrades", or buy the best thing you can find and go out and ride!

 

haha you have a good point about upgrades.. im leaning towards the kawi

 

i waxed a kawi 450 with a full 2 brothers pipe. and mine only has a slip-on hmf and jetted and a 15t front sproket. even switched 4-wheelers same result.

as for woods racing i liked it better b/c it had smoother throttle response (fuel injection) and u wouldnt think it but fuel injection is alot easier on your thumb.

 

there is about a 95% chance the yfz450 will be getting a total makeover next year. not sure what they are doing to frame and suspestion but from what ive herd it is going to be fuel injected which i have the raptor 700 and love love love the fi. and from what ive learned from car engines fi will end up giving you much more power.
