People are iterested in the KTM handling and suspension, we know about its power since its engine is already running around in the Outlaws.</end quote></div>
FYI - What I've heard is that it is not the same engine. KTM decided to go with an all new 525cc motor with technology that is 2 years newer that that used for the Outlaw. The new engine puts out more power.</end quote></div>
That is false. The KTM525 is the same engine as the Outlaw 525. The only difference is the muffler, air box, and cdi.</end quote></div>
Did some digging, but not enough info on the net yet to say one way or the other. They do appear to have the same case and similar carbs. I was just commenting on what the KTM rep said when he brought out the quad to preview. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the reviews.</end quote></div>
Trust me, there the same. The new ktm is actually called a 530 and not a 525. It also has only 1 oil filter while the 525 has 2. The KTM 525 has 2 oil filters just like the Outlaw. They only put the new engine in the bikes. If it was in there quad, there would be all kinds of things written about it as it's so new.

My bad on the MX remark. I guess I added that in. But having fully adjustable A-arms or Axles seems a pretty cool feature. Not everyone will be happy with a single setup, and this feature makes it so you could adjust it to fit your riding style (without forking out extra $$$).
Race ready - what exactly is the complaint? Looks to me that the bike has everything needed to legally race. Plus it includes a lot of extras to make is ride better.</end quote></div>
He was talking to the other guy... (crazy1291)
As for the rest... that's exactly how I see it.
If a guy intends to race XC or thrash the trails... AND is prone to mod the quad.....
Well, I'm sorry... may as well spend the $9,000 up front... as it will be cheaper than buying some other quad and doing the mods that the KTM has as standard equipment.

I started out young and biased just like crazy1219, but if you look at what most pro GNCC guys are running is the Houser Slicast A arms, which are camber and caster adjustable. by the way have you ever even rode a ds450 yet kid? back on topic I bought my 525xc about 2 moths ago and I am still in shock of it. I have owned a 250x, 250r, Predator, and also have my best friends YFZ, while he is over in Iraq. I cant even see a bolt or nut that they have used without thinking how it is going to hurt or help a racer. It is race ready, no BS. It is definatly good enough to get you out front. Staying up front is your part of the deal. In 2008 they have sighned Adam McGill and he is definatly skilled enogh to get up there. They are definatly going to impact the way a racer is built from the factory. Now if someone will explain how to post pics, I have plenty.

Just post pics right on your profile page. It's really easy once you go to your profile. Go to the top of any page and click on the My Page link. Once your in your page click the edit button and scroll down to where pictures go. Then you can upload pics from your computer to your profile. I hope this helps. We would all love to see some sweet pics in your profile.

What amazed me is how solidly constructed it looks. It's like the engineers and designers sat down and completely threw out the status-quo of sport quads and redeveloped how it "should be". I must admit that my YFZ450 build quality looks a little cheaper now that I've seen the KTM. My friends KTM525 still isn't running well for whatever reason .. I am eager to try out just a stock one in good running condition for comparison..

I have heard the magazines say the motors are a tad different. Also it is not called a 530 it is a 525xc, where are you getting your info? The one I sat on said 525 anyway and I've seen many pics that say that as well. Besides all of that the KTM machines are very nice along with the DS450. Enough said!

I know the quad is a 525XC, but the new bikes with the new engines are no longer called 525's but 530's. That is what I'm talking about.</end quote></div>
I guess one of us is misunderstanding. This thread is about the quad, not the bike.

I know that. But you said the KTM 525 quad had the new engine in it. I said it didn't that only the bike got the new engine and it's called a 530 and not a 525 to show it's new. So if the quad also got the new engine, it also would be called a 530. So showing you that it does not have the new engine. So the statement of saying the Outlaw 525 and the KTM525 have differnt engines is false.
