Best sport quads for trails.

Z400 unless you have a major need for speed, then go for the 700 Raptor. I don't know what you mean by "stock" quad. Are there any of those left anymore? lol. The 450's may outperform those in some areas, but not in all day comfort. For most trails at sane speeds, rider ability is a much bigger factor than which 400cc + machine you are riding anyway.

For really tight semi-technical trails, the Honda 300EX is the all-time great machine! Medium size, fits between the trees easily, and torquey bottom end power. Second choice, Honda 400EX. I can put mine in 1st gear, and just idle through nasty stuff.
For more open faster trails, the Suzuki Z400 and Raptor 700.

I'd take another kfx/z400 any day. Best trail bike i've owned. And with the mods i have done it will pull away from almost all 450's and 700 raptors i've tried. They make good track bikes, they have reverse and electric start and there reliable. There really great bikes, i love mine.

That is OK till you mod the bigger ones then they will blow your doors off again.

the 400ex is a very good quad or tight trail riding. the raptor 700 is also a pretty good choice expecaly if you also like to open it up sometimes and do a little drag racing.

depends on the trails and the rider IMO ....
If you have a lot of wicked rutted and rocky trails, and like IRS, there is probably nothing better .....so either the Outlaw IRS or the Honda 700xx might work for you....
If you ride a lot of faster open trails, I'd go for something with SRA like the z400 or Raptor 700, or one of the 525 machines like the KTM or Outlaw S........
