it wont damange your engine. But they will be a pain in the *** when riding big time. ntm you roll the thing and most likly will be breaking off on the first time. the only time i would ever use out of frame stright pipes is if i was build a top dog hill shooter. i know for a raptor is not that much of a difference. (about 3-4 hp) and thats on a tricked out raptor. but the big dog want every ounce of power they can get so they do it. and they does care they are hanging off the side they only go str8 up a hill and if they roll it they just dont care if they have efffff there quad up

It might not damage your engine but your quad will not be faster.......

no you need a specific curve in the head-pipe, a muffler and cannister to get the right amount of back-pressure the engine is designed for......cannister length can vary depending on if torque or HP is the desired result, same with the curve of the head-pipe.......

opening an engine up like that does not create "ride power" which is torque.... you need back-pressure to create torque, it is a basic principle with internal combustion engines......the HP reading might be the same but torque will go way down.......if you cannot afford a real exhaust upgrade then leave it stock because you will see no gains at all........only thing you will increase is the noise.....

ss97 is dead on....that is why when you buy an aftermarket exhaust some mfr's are better than others for different atvs. For example, HMF presumably makes the "best" exhaust for the preddy, but maybe not for the raptor. The reason is their "design" works better for that particular engine and produces more power than others. So to say that Yoshi makes the best pipe in general is incorrect. Yes they do make a great pipe, but not for every make of atv. The only way to really tell is to dyno test them all and compare, which they pretty much all do. I hope this makes sense.....
