489s are geat dirt tires and also do well in a little mud and snow. The only place I wouldn't want them is dunes but I never ride dunes anyway. Everyone I know who got 489s stock (mostly Polaris) keeps the stockers and they don't wear out for <u>several</u> years. A lot of other tires only have a fraction as much tread and wear out much sooner. They're such an under-rated tire because so many others have come out since they did. Newer isn't always better. JMO.
