No!! Several machines including the banshee, 400ex, and sport 400L can do well over 50 mph right off the showroom floor. Even the warrior and the sport 4x4 scramblers will do about 55 or 60 stock. The banshee and sport 400 will do closer to 70 stock (according to dirtwheels mag). Most atv's however will top out around 45-50 mph. But the performance machines will do better.

Superman, expect Kryptonite!

You'll get mail!

From one or two posters whose rides are conspicuously absent on your little list.

Fastblue, you sly dog, you just HAD to stir the pot, didn't you!

Hey Weibz to bad you are scared to ride your quad. OR EVEN GET ALITTLE DIRT ON IT! Stop lifting your feet up onto the fenders and hit something would ya. Your quad is going to get dirty sometime.

My wolverine runs about 55-57. Obviously, judging by the question, you are quite new to atvs. The list below is of CURRENT PRODUCTION (stock as well)atvs--though there are several fast, but discontinued models available used.

Polaris--for the most part, all their models can run in the 53-55 range, except the:
Sport 400:64-67mph
Scramblers-400&500:61-65 range

Yamaha:
Banshee:67-71 range
Warrior:64-68 range
Blaster:58-62 range
Grizzly (it varies--the 98's were a bit faster) on average, a 99 or 00 will run 53-56
Wolverine:54-57
'00 Kodiak 400--don't know yet

Suzuki:
Suzuki currently makes nothing that will do much over 50 mph.
LT-500:50-52 range

Kawasaki

Lakota:52-55
Mojave:53-56
Prairie 400:50-53

Honda
300ex:55-60
400ex:61-65
Recon:50-52

Bombardier
Traxter 500:53-55
Ds650:unknown

GasGas
300-2stroke:unknown

Note:all speeds listed are close, I may be off a little, but for the most part all are pretty close with the range I have given.
Later All, Shawn

YOU BETTER NOT FORGET MY QUAD AGAIN. GOT IT?

But seriously, I don't think a Recon will do 50 mph. I think it is closer to 43-48 mph. If I'm wrong please corect me.
