86ATC,
I raced a 86250Ratc once. He beat me worse than I have ever been beat. Though for the first 50ft I was ahead However my Scrambler beats 350Xatc's & 400EX's. Trust me even though a Polaris is an auto you can drag it good or bad just like an auto car. Meaning the driver. The Polaris' aren't very good on the MX tracks, nor were they meant to be. If Polaris wanted to whip everyones a$$, like their sleds do, they would... But to say a Sport is not a good trail quad is wrong. It might not be as nimble as a 400EX but not everyone is built like girl and some guys don't mind using a little muscle. I think the Sport/ Scrambler & even Trailblazer are great on the trails. I have yet to have anyone run away from me on the trails. But like I said in a straight line that 250Ratc was fast !

I've ridden a couple of those atc's and I have to give those guys a lot of credit. I don't feel safe riding that thing at high speeds. I'll take four wheels anyday.
It takes a very skilled rider to drag one of those puppies.
Another thing. If Yamaha gets that yzf426 motor in a quad frame. It will make this list as well.

The Kawasaki KXF-250 will also be added to the list.

This is a good conversation. The way my dream quad is...it flies in a straight line, but ALSO through the woods, and is very easy with maneuvering on the tight trails, or anything else for that matter. Works awesome all around. Man am I glad I found my 250R...THANK YOU GOD.

Wow, this has turned into a thread on the 300EX style versus the sport400 style.

OK, muscle...WEIGHT. That's what the muscle. Muscle isn't necessarily speed...what about those light as hell 2-strokes that fly? Love 'em. One more thing about weight...I don't know about you, but I'd rather have something that I control, instead on it controlling me. That's why I personally would take a lighter sport/hi-perf quad over anything.

Chris most of the riding we do is at full throtle. But I can see what you are saying about the tight woods trails. I have never taken mine on a trail like that. Im 18 years old and have been ridig quads for about 11-12 years. The first one we owned was a 350 honda 4*4, but my dad sold it and bought a 250 because thats when the government started Sending out those warnings abot kids getting killed on four wheelers. Why was my age a question though?

Chris, as for your comment on how "the 300EX kills everything in the woods," I beg to differ. Don't get me wrong, the 300EX is a very cabable machine in the woods, but I would have to say the 400EX will take a 300EX in the woods. It may be a little bigger but the power and handling advantages that the 400EX has over the 300EX will allow it to go faster down the trails. Again, I am not trying saying that the 300EX is a bad machine, because it is a very good machine, but I believe the 400EX is better.

all right, LETS TAKE A VOTE. Just for the hell of it. Give your top three for the following, in no particular order...

TOP 3 WOODS QUADS?

TOP 3 DUNES QUADS?

TOP 3 MOTOCROSS QUADS?

3 FASTEST QUADS(straight line)?

Just copy the top Q's, past them in a reply, along with your answers. A lot of us will find it interesting of what everyone else thinks. Don't argue, just say what you think and, if you want, why you think what you do.

TOP 3 WOODS QUADS?
honda trx250r, honda trx400ex, honda trx300ex

TOP 3 DUNES QUADS?

3 FASTEST QUADS(straight line)?
