Hey I came across a 2008 Trx 450er Black and Blue with Black frame still in the crate I got the dealer to get it out so im going to look at it, I was wondering if anyone knew alot about them I sorta fallowed The yfz and the ds450 but this Honda cought my eye just wondering how they run up against say a 08 yfz 450? Also if i was to race in a year what is the aftermarket like on the Trx 450?

 

the hondas a nice bike...stock for stock the yfz may take the handa in top speed, depends on rider also, its a little bit more snappier but with mods the honda is a race proven machine along wth teh yfz and others. The aftermarcket world for the honda also is almost unlimited, you can modd them like nuts. i personally like the honda better then any other 450s...i would say go for it if its a good deal! hope this helps...

I agree with Mojo. I ride the 07 450ER. The aftermarket support is much bigger than most people's wallets will even let them think of. The YFZ will take it slightly on top speed but the handling of the 450R is amazing. Get rid of the stock tires ASAP. they are horrible. Ask the dealer what he would charge you to install the HRC kit. That is aftermarket stuff that if Honda install it you retain your warranty. It consist of a new header pipe and cams and I can't remember what else. Here is a pic of mine.

 

+1 The honda's are great machines. You can't go wrong buying a trusty TRX450, I say go for it if it's a great deal. The greatest thing I think about them is the aftermarket is relatively inexpensive and they are the most simple of the 450's to work on. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] Get it dude!
